We hired Horizon Custom Build and Remodel over year ago for a major exterior renovation, and we wanted to wait to see how everything held up through the seasons before posting. After a full year, the craftsmanship is still perfect.
Eric and his team delivered our dream deck: a custom covered composite build featuring electrical outlets and a ceiling fan. Beyond the deck, they handled a large scope of work, including new siding, gutters, soffit, a natural gas line for our grill, and several other exterior repairs. The project team consisted of highly skilled carpenters who clearly take pride in their work.
What has impressed us the most is that Eric has remained incredibly responsive to every little question we’ve had in the year since the job wrapped up. It’s rare to find a builder who provides this level of support. If you are looking for quality and reliability, we cannot recommend Horizon enough!

We connected with Eric at the Builders Association of Greter Lafayette show and after meeting with him a few times we contracted with him for our kitchen remodel. Eric and Von Tobel's were great to work with. Eric gave us a lot of good suggestions and we ended up totally gutting our large kitchen. Our new design uses our space much more efficienty and is just beautiful. Eric's team was fantastic. His staff were great, very friendly, respectiful and helpful. They cleaned up the work site each day before leaving. Eric was in almost daily contact to let us know what work had been completed and what was scheduled for the next day. I highly recommend Eric for any remodeling project!

They remodeled my master bathroom and closet. They stayed on schedule and budget. The craftsmanship is excellent. The change from what it was is so dramatic, that it still doesn’t seem real to have such a beautiful bathroom and walk in closet. They were honest and communication was excellent. I would absolutely want them to do work on my home again.

Horizon was recommended to me by a friend. She knew I had been trying to find someone to redo my deck with no one wanting to take on the task. The kitchen remodel process is absolutely terrifying. Luckily, we were smart enough to go with Horizon. Eric and his team were always on time, always professional, and always willing to ensure the kitchen turned out the way we wanted it. Of the quotes we got, Horizon was by far the most affordable. The cost savings in no way impacted the quality of the work. Kerry, the trim specialist, is a mastermind with details and Eric kept us informed throughout the entire process. I can not recommend them highly enough.

I was connected to Eric at Horizon Home Remodeling through Angi after a section of screening on the patio was wrecked by an overly zealous, playful visiting puppy.
As I wanted to improve the overall look of the patio anyway, I decided to go with a product that Eric recommended called ScreenEeze. The result was awesome.
Eric’s crew Aaron and Ryan were the epitome of professionalism from the time they started through when they finished cleaning up.

Overall comments: 1) professional - they know what to do and how to do; assembled a team for tasks of different nature; kept work site clean and organized and applied floor protection and space separation curtains to avoid dust dispersion; completely "turn-key" at the end without hassle; 2) on time - able to overcome interruptions caused by several winter storms and able to squeeze in a new project 2 (see below) while still getting both projects done under original timeframe; 3) comfortable communication - truly comfortable: courteous, timely, responsive and patient with questions (tons of questions); 4) reasonable and affordable pricing - no hidden fees, all expenses specified explicitly in contract, competitive bids; 5) reliable - probably the most valuable and difficult to find attribute from a remodeling contractor nowadays. Great quality of work and nice people. The projects were done beautifully and received great comments from friends including a contractor friend.
Project details: project 1) master bath conversion from old leaking sauna to tiled shower area with new lights, switches, exhaust fan, shower sets, bench, shampoo niche, and new ceiling; project 2) conversion of jacuzzi (never used) to new storage space to increase total storage space for master suite with removal of wall fixtures, fixing existing drywall, installing new drywall, new storage doors, new light, new switch, new tiled floor and painting of both drywall and door.
Challenges: 1) winter storms and cold temperatures; 2) jacuzzi conversion project was a new task not included in original scope of work; 3) existing bended drywall (not straight) to apply tiles on, 4) some of the existing floor tiles are in half or fractional around old jacuzzi area, which either have to be removed or a transition piece would be needed to connect with the floor of new storage space.
Outcomes: 1) both projects completed on time with solid quality; 2) bended drywall was adjusted so that tiles (large plank style) can be applied; 3) fractional floor tiles were removed so that no transition piece would be needed and existing floor tiles and new floor tiles for the newly added storage space were connected and harmonized as one piece.
Hire again? Yes, definitely, already discussed several additional projects to do in the house for later in the year.

Eric renovated our basement, adding a new bathroom and bedroom. It turned out better than we expected. He was very thorough and professional, but also flexible to what we wanted and our budget.
